Show prizes and a new love...

I don't remember showing you the pages I entered in the Inverell Show last month....I won a whole $3 in prize money (woo hoo!)....which is not a great incentive, but I think its all about supporting the local show.  I've even put my hand up to help organise the scrapping section next year.....which I hopefully won't regret.....

So anyway, here are the layouts....

Have you seen the seriously CUTE new Dear Lizzy range by American Crafts???

Papers just too adorable to resist.
This is what I've been working on with them.....

Will reveal later....

Enjoy the rest of your weeknd!

Go on....have a go

.....Leann has another truckload of goodies up for grabs over on her blog

.....and this time you don't need to have a blog to enter.  I won Leann's last bundle of giveaways - so you can take it from me - it IS possible!  Go ahead and enter....you know you want to.....

My weekend...

1.  Took a trip to hospital with Mia (again!)....she got something in her eye before bed Saturday night and woke up extremely miserable and swollen Sunday morning....after a torturous few moments of doc poking and prodding and squirting hurty stuff in her eye while I held open the eyelids (isn't it fun being a mother?)....we were told there was nothing in there and sent home.  You have to be a teensy bit dubious esp after our last episode when the doc tried to send us away...."that arm is definitely not broken"....yeah right.

2.  Had a heap of fun making this layout....

3.  And this one.....

4.  Surprised myself by losing another little bit of weight this week, despite that piece of caramel slice!

5.  Contemplated trying out for this.....what an awesome opportunity it would be!

6. Got caught up in that rush of nerves and excitement bidding (and winning) this multimedia dvd/tv/cd on eBay.....it will be the kid's Easter pressie and handy for those rainy camping days....cool!

7.  Had a Yahtzee tournament with the kids, followed by a Fooseball challenge....fun!

8.  Sat in the car reading my book for a blissful hour while Kate and her friend had their clarinet lesson....the sounds drifting out to the carpark were just gorgeous - those girls are really improving!

9.  Had a loooong phonecall with Mum....love those....you know the kind where your ear is aching and the handset is burning hot by the end?

10.  Tried not to go outside or look out the window while two of our beautiful steers were being - how shall I say - prepared for the freezer.

11. Delved into the far reaches of my wardrobe.....tried everything on.....made up a big garbo bag full for Vinnies and one for the bin......and rediscovered a few long lost friends lurking up the back.

What did you get up to???

Hello New Toy!

Here is my new Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ38.....winging it's way to me right now!  Just in time for our upcoming big camping adventure to SA!

Holy gazoly.....choosing a new camera is such a dilemma!

This website was a huge help tho....Photography Blog.....each camera is reviewed in detail and the best part is it compares them to their closet rivals. The prices given are in US dollars but I simply did a search with one of the many price comparison sites on the web and ended up only paying half the rrp!

Gotta love that now!

All things furry and feathery....

....so many critters in a single post!

First up, a DOGGY layout I completed today....

....can't help but smile when I look at poor Digger's face in these pics!  So hardly done by!

When you go to stay at Linda's house you have to be prepared for things like....a WALLABY in your bed....

What a cheek!  I was there for two nights this week while poor Tim was in hospital having an op for sleep apnea.  On the last morning I got to spend time with my favourite WOMBAT...

...Chilli.  Do you think Linda would notice if I smuggled her in my suitcase?  Mmmm, maybe....

Too too gorgeous.

Today one of Bethany's wishes came true....

....we spent the day building a suitable home for.....CHOOKS!

...meet Ruffles and Dooka Dooka the bantam chooks.  They have puffy black feathers and look like they're wearing furry slippers....did I mention they are very very cute?

Now to a different kind of critter....KIDDY POPPETS....the ones I did with the Gum Flat kids last week.....

....all on display in the new multi-purpose room at school (we went to the opening of it on Wednesday)....don't they look fabulous!

I also wanted to tell you (something non-animal) that I finished Angela's Ashes....oh boy what a marvelous book.....loved it.  Does anyone remember if there was a mini series or something made on it?  I seem to recall there was something on telly years ago.  AND I've begun my next adventure.....

....and losing myself in it completely....up to chapter 10 so far and reeeeally hate to be interrupted once it's open in my hands....

Remember a while back I gave away some handmade embellishment packs like this one....?

Angie - my Mum - was one of the lucky winners.  And this is what she created with it....

...I think it looks awesome!  I may be a bit biased though.....those are my girls after all.....!  Love it Mum.

Must go and get these darling girls into bed.....nitey nite.....xxx

Some pages and what's been happening....

First a couple of pages....this one is for a "Scrapping Whispers" I'm doing with the Scrapawhile girls....so can't reveal the whole thing yet....

I am so in love with the Crate Paper releases right now.  Esp. Paper Doll which I used for the LO above.  Too too cute!  And my little lady bug is from My Little Bit of Whimsy....check them out!

The little cloud button I used on this next LO is also from Whimsy.....plus some goodies from the new Sassafras Nerdy Bird range...yum yum...love that this one fitted 7 regular sized pics on it....

I promised you a bit of a catch up since I've been so slack:

1. Kate spent all last week on a school excursion in Queensland....Underwater World, Sea World, Southbank Brisbane, Outback Spectacular, Science Museum.......lots of traveling and lots of fun meant one incredibly weary girl on Friday night when the bus rolled up at 9.30pm.  It's the longest she has been away from us and she handled it brilliantly - so proud of her!

2. I've been using CalorieKing.com to help me get my weight and health back on track.....40 is creeping up on me you see....and I'm proud to say I've lost 2.6 kg in two weeks.  Remind me to share some of my delish "skinny" recipes with you.

3. It was Poppet-heaven at school last week when I was invited do some scrapping with the infants kids (while the big guys were on their excursion).  Even the boys got into it - actually they were more obsessed with the buttons and the glitter glue than the girls.  Check these out.....kids are so clever and inventive!

4. Renovations happening once again at Sunnydale....

Tim has built a wall to separate Beth and Mia's bedroom from a little TV area, and the new Gyprock you can see in the background has replaced a thousand little old rattly louvre windows.  Much cosier!

5. Linda visited with Milo the swamp wallaby....

....what a cutie pie!

6.  I've rediscovered BOOKS.....and have challenged myself to read more this year.  This is my list so far:
Breaking Dawn - Stephanie Meyer
The Key to Rondo - Emily Rodda
Forbidden Places - Penny Vincenzi
and currently halfway through Angela's Ashes - Frank McCourt
I'd love your recommendations!

I have a tidy house (in preparation for a visit with the in-laws next week) and a pork roast in the oven....
all is well in my world!
Come back soon.

I'm back (from nowhere in particular, just been busy and no nice photos to share) and I have a new class-in-a-box for you!  The first one of 2010 actually.  Lots of colour and funky goodness!  Instead of monthly, I'm doing classes every second month this year, and as usual, any leftover kits will be offered via my blog.

I have a small amount available.....$15 plus $5 postage......included are 4 gorgeous quality papers from the "Bliss" range by Crate paper, cardstock, a full packet of matching stickers, two journalling spots and instructions to create the above double layout.  Mum, Bron, Maria - your kits have been set aside and will be posted soon!
