Cookin' up a recipe

How's this for a tasty recipe?
  • The color Baby Blue
  • Ink (and lots of it!)
  • Masking
  • Newspaper print, or some sort of paper with words
  • Stripes
Yep, it's the final Design Dollies Elements Challenge for July and it's good to go......get your entries in girls!

Here's the page I cooked up.....

....our little Sky, who is now with her new owners and going under the name of Pebbles! I think Baby Blue suits her, don't you?

Oh, by the way, have I shown you this one?

I think I forgot to! This was the DD Colour Challenge from last week....(which is too late to enter now), but it's such a yummy combo, isn't it? One to store away in the Ideas File I am thinking.

And just so you know, the darling wombat in the pic is Chilli. You may remember her from this post here when she was just a wee bubby. Oh my, she has grown soooooo much! I visited her in March when I went to stay with Linda. Such a special girl. She has to be 20 kgs before she can be released into the wild again - I think she's almost there (will be a sad, yet happy moment....)

Okey dokey, thanks for popping in!

All things furry and feathery....

....so many critters in a single post!

First up, a DOGGY layout I completed today....

....can't help but smile when I look at poor Digger's face in these pics!  So hardly done by!

When you go to stay at Linda's house you have to be prepared for things like....a WALLABY in your bed....

What a cheek!  I was there for two nights this week while poor Tim was in hospital having an op for sleep apnea.  On the last morning I got to spend time with my favourite WOMBAT...

...Chilli.  Do you think Linda would notice if I smuggled her in my suitcase?  Mmmm, maybe....

Too too gorgeous.

Today one of Bethany's wishes came true....

....we spent the day building a suitable home for.....CHOOKS!

...meet Ruffles and Dooka Dooka the bantam chooks.  They have puffy black feathers and look like they're wearing furry slippers....did I mention they are very very cute?

Now to a different kind of critter....KIDDY POPPETS....the ones I did with the Gum Flat kids last week.....

....all on display in the new multi-purpose room at school (we went to the opening of it on Wednesday)....don't they look fabulous!

I also wanted to tell you (something non-animal) that I finished Angela's Ashes....oh boy what a marvelous book.....loved it.  Does anyone remember if there was a mini series or something made on it?  I seem to recall there was something on telly years ago.  AND I've begun my next adventure.....

....and losing myself in it completely....up to chapter 10 so far and reeeeally hate to be interrupted once it's open in my hands....

Remember a while back I gave away some handmade embellishment packs like this one....?

Angie - my Mum - was one of the lucky winners.  And this is what she created with it....

...I think it looks awesome!  I may be a bit biased though.....those are my girls after all.....!  Love it Mum.

Must go and get these darling girls into bed.....nitey nite.....xxx

Thursday, January 7

Uh-oh...

Bit of a hiccup with that "good year" I was predicting....

....a broken bone!!!  The story in Mia's own words:

"I went ZOOMING down the hill....(scream)....and it went all wobbly....(sob)....and I crashed....(wail....scream.....hysterical crying)...and now my bike is flat!"

This all happened at 7pm Tuesday evening....about to serve up dinner....chicken kebabs sizzling in the pan....blood-covered screaming child at the doorstep....two child-witnesses traumatised....comfort and first aid applied....chicken kebabs burnt....flying visit to hospital....

Isn't parenting FUN!

I scrapped for the first time since the beginning of December.  Always a struggle to get back 'in the swing' after a long break....not entirely thrilled with the resulting layouts - oh well....another 14 pictures scrapped....

This one was finally published in Scrapbooking Memories mag last month....I did it about 18 months ago!  I missed out on purchasing a copy....did anyone see it in Vol 11 No 11?

And this one was in the month before - Vol 11 No 10....

This steamy weather with the odd shower is doing wonders for the garden and paddocks!  Look how incredibly GREEN it is....

Hope you are having a nice day.
Thanx for stopping by....

Chilli the Wombat

Look who came to visit our house last week.........a beautiful bouncing baby wombat!

....she is the most amazing and adorable creature we have ever seen and we feel very lucky to have had such a special visitor.  The girls, of course, were besotted....

Chilli is being cared for by our wildlife expert friend Linda, who just happened to be visiting over the school hols......lucky us!

Apart from the missing tips of her ears, you would never know that poor little Chilli was rescued a couple of months ago from the side of the road wandering around near her dead mummy, suffering badly from frost bite and exposure.

Of course, being only a wee bubba (8 months old) she spent almost all the time snuggled in her "pouch".....but we got to enjoy her short bursts of playtime running around our kitchen and loungeroom....and even a few cuddles.

Aaaaaawwwwwwwwww........

Just in case you don't know....tomorrow is WOMBAT DAY.....so go ahead and talk about them, look them up on the net, wear a wombat t-shirt, or give one a cuddle.....I've just done my bit!
