Mamma Mia

Boy, did I have fun with these! And because I bought 2 sheets of each design I reckon I could make another couple of single pages easily. The journaling says "The way you mother your dollies is so beautiful to watch!" On the days when it's just Mia and I at home, she gets so engrossed in being mummy to Lillian-Bo (pictured) and the other babies in her huge family. It really is adorable to see.

You gotta try these!

These are our ginormous choc chip cookies (pronounced jye-NOOOOOORRRR-muss by the kids) and they are so easy, so yummy and so great I had to share. This recipe makes a ginormous batch and a ginormous amount of cookie dough, so you need a ginormous bowl to mix it all up in. We use a big old salad bowl - see Mia below! GI-NOOOORRR-MOUS CHOC CHIP COOKIES 500g butter, chopped (at room temp) 1 1/4 cups brown suger, firmly packed 395g tin of condensed milk 2 cups self raising flour 3 cups plain flour 2 x 250g packets dark choc chips Beat butter, sugar and condensed milk until light and fluffy. Stir in combined sifted flours & choc bits. Roll into balls (however ginormous you want them!), place on oven trays, press down slightly. Bake 180 degree oven 15 mins or until very lightly browned. Cool on racks. You can freeze these for up to 2 months - but I can tell you, they won't last! Look what arrived in my mail box today from Shop and Crop... How darling are they? They're the new Mumma Bushka papers from Kaisercraft - and I cannot WAIT to create! Stay tuned...

I won something!

Just by leaving a comment on Pip's Blog, my name was randomly selected to win this.... ....water threading punch by Fiskars. You can imagine how excited this scallop-freak was to get this in the mail!!! Lots of fun being had at Scrapwitch with the SBS (Step by Step) challenges being taken over by the awesomely talented and gorgeously lovely Mistra. Here's my creation with Mistra's steps from last week's challenge: My youngest, Mimi, just before her Tiny Tots ballet class last year. Awwwww.... Courtesy of Josie, this blog has become a fave source of inspiration. Brenda's My Scrapbooking Layouts is chock full of scrap-alicious designs. Very Pip-ish in her style, which is probably why I love her pages so much. "So Terribly Cute" is a lift from Brenda's "Big Hat Little Girl" lo. Wanna see my favourite layout I've done lately? Hope you're enjoying this gorgeous Autumn weather...Autumn yippee!!! My fave season! See you next time xxx

In the blink of an eye...

...another month has snuck by without me noticing. What the heck have we done? Hmmm, must have been quite a bit - cos it's all a blur!!! I did manage to scrap (most importantly!), a few of which I'll share with you in a sec. Another few have been accepted for publication, so I can't show you those ones just yet, but it makes me happy that I've made the effort to start submitting once again. This Wednesday just gone, I held my monthly workshop at Gum Flat. Here are my lovely ladies with their creations. Sorry, can't show you mine - but you'll see it in SM mag in a few months time!

Was show time at Inverell at the end of Feb, and Kate and I decided to enter a few of our handicrafts. I won some ribbons in the scrapbooking. Kate got prizes for scrapbooking and a mosaic tile she made, and for her teddy and doll she entered in the "collector's corner", but was MOST proud of this.... Of course, now that she's an award-winning cook, I'll be passing all cooking duties over to her from now on! Had some fun over at Scrapwitch with a few of their challenges: Today's to do list: + read with the kids (have Bethy at home sick today) + bake some mini quiches + tidy the mountain of paperwork that always seems to materialise on the dining table evey week + mend Beth's fave top + hem a school uniform + vacuum Sheesh! Already half a day gone! Bye!

Oh so welcome...

...the rain that is! It has finally rained for the second time this year! Everything looks so much the better for it - the paddocks, the tanks, the crops AND most importantly, farmer hubby's demeanour... Even Diggy Dog looks happy! Yesterday I found these rainy day pictures from '06 that needed scrapping: And I also finished off Kate's Happy Thoughts mini album: She is a terible worry-wort, especially when trying to fall asleep - so this little album full of positive affirmations is made just for her. For all those who celebrate the 14th of Feb, Happy St Valentine's Day!! And thanks for passing through. xxx

I've been photo-tagged

Thanks to the lovely Jewels all the way from the US, I've been challenged to post the 6th photo out of the 6th folder of the My Pictures file in my computer. So here it is - and luckily not an embarrassing one! A cute flowery shot of Kate in '05 holding the most gorgeous peony that popped up in our (then new) garden quite unexpectedly. I took quite a few pics that day, and I remember the flies were SO bad (typical Inverell summer) and I had to edit them out! This particular shot didn't make the cull when I went to scrap them....you can see the finished LO below: I'm now supposed to pick 6 more people to tag...but since so many have already done this, I'm going to be a rebel and break all the rules and ask that the following people post the FIRST photo out of the FIRST folder from their My Pictures file....then select 6 more people to tag. So come on, Kylie Pip Jen Fiona Heather and Kathryn Do your thing!

Gum Flat Girls are Back....

...for their first class for 2009! I tell you - they are getting so talented! They are not going to need me at all soon. Wednesday night we did the same class I ran online at Scrapwitch in Dec/Jan - the layout of course, being based on one of Jen Hall's Octoberfest designs, but with all elements hand drawn and cut from good old cardstock. I'm so proud of their freehand scallops and doodling - you should see them - these days they just go for it without batting an eyelid! Once upon a time there would have been a chorus of moaning and grumbling... Here are the girls with their masterpieces: Gloria Libet & Trace Jane & Katrina Deb & Lisa H Lee & Lisa W Spent some time with the horses this morning - before the scorching heat hit. They were soooo dusty! Have made the decision to sell them both (sniff!) - it will be hard to see them go. Here's our spunky boy Rudolph: ...and the beautiful but snooty Hannah: Here's hoping we can find them nice new families to love. Must go and get my beauty sleep. Ta ta for now! xxx
